Ways a Ductless System Could Benefit Your Home

Most homes in our area use a forced-air furnace and air conditioner. While these systems can keep the majority of the house warm in the winter and cool in the summer—sometimes you might find yourself needing portable heaters or window air conditioners. Converted garages, home additions, and even sunrooms are areas that can benefit from a ductless system to complement your current heating and cooling equipment.

  • Converted Garage: Many people are turning to their garages for extra space and using it as a hobby workspace, home gym or a mancave! However, garages are not typically heated (or air conditioned) and it can be expensive to run ducts from the home’s furnace and AC to a new space. A ductless system can be easily installed to provide year-long comfort to this additional living area.
  • Addition/In-Law Suite: When you include an addition to your home, you’ll have to determine how you’ll heat and cool the new space. Adding ducts to use the current heating and cooling system can require extensive demolition and can turn your whole home into a construction zone. By installing a ductless system, you can avoid the headaches of adding ductwork and you’ll have zoned heating and cooling—perfect for an in-law suite.
  • Sunroom: 3-season rooms are usually insulated, but they don’t have access to the home’s furnace and air conditioner. Instead, homeowners rely on portable heaters and window ACs to keep the space comfortable. A ductless system is a smarter solution because it can provide increased comfort and is more efficient.

If you’re looking at converting an area of your home to usable living space—consider installing a ductless system to provide year-long comfort.
